I know that this is a little late, but happy 4th of July everyone. I (Venice) hope that everyone had a great time celebrating America's independence at the beach, picnic(s),[I had to make that plural 'cuz some of y'all are probably greedy or like most black/hispanic ppl and tried to go to as many bbq's as humanly possible yesterday...lol], watching fireworks, burning the flag [heck some of y'all may be crazy]or however else you chose to spend the day. My day started out rather uneventful and depressing, as I had absolutely no plans for this day and didn't know of any taken place in the small town that i am in. This was my first 4th of July in which i was not with my friends or family and I was completely lost/bored without them. Anyway, I spent most of the day lounging around until i finally went to the grocery store, where I saw last minute shoppers buying up all the meat, buns, and anything red, white, and blue that they could find. I stayed clear of them and those items, I'm guessing as a way to try to forget that I didn't have any plans for this celebratory day. As i approached the check out lane I was met by a young male cashier, who quickly reminded me that it was the fourth and I had no plans, by making jokes. This pimpled face guy, to my surprise, not only hit on me but made me laugh and smile, reminding me that I should be happy and having fun. Feeling slightly inspired, I left the store and met up with my roommate and her old ( but my new and more elderly) friends to spend the evening with and actually had a wonderful time. I hope that you all had fun yesterday and shared precious time with those close to you!
